Delirium is a hidden problem within the health system. Often a frightening and isolating experience, it is also associated with increased risk of harm and poor health outcomes. Learn how twenty-one multidisciplinary teams have collaborated to increase screening rates, reduce average length of stay, and decrease use of anti-psychotic medication among patients with delirium, in just eleven months.
 
 
Nicole Brady is the Director of Strategy and Implementation at Safer Care Victoria (SCV), Australia. Nicole led the establishment of SCV and is responsible for the strategic partnership with the Institute of Healthcare Improvement.
Nicole’s role involves ensuring the strategic direction of SCV is focused on results-oriented work that meets the priorities of patients, the health sector, the Health Minister and broader government.
Nicole arrived at SCV after an award-winning career in journalism. After quitting media, she undertook a Masters in Population Health, spent time working as a political adviser, then moved into government.
 
 
Eleanor Sawyer is in the Improvement Team at Safer Care Victoria. Eleanor is a physiotherapist, and has a Master of Public Health and a Master of Health Management from the University of New South Wales. She has a passion for improving healthcare and has led a number of projects at a health service and state-wide level.
