The Annual Chief Executive Collaborative and AGM is an exclusive meeting and workshop designed specifically for CEO’s and senior executives who are the personal members of The Health Roundtable (HRT). The event is free for two registrants, as it is included as part of your hospital’s annual subscription to the HRT.
The theme for 2018 is Tomorrow’s Issues - Considered Today.
As the Personal Member representing your organisation, your input is crucial to shape the organisation in the years ahead. I urge you to attend personally, and to bring your HRT Liaison Representative. The key activities are:
Tuesday 20 March from 6.30pm - Pre collaborative dinner: For those arriving on the evening before, we will be hosting a group networking dinner at Adria Bar Restaurant - 107 Cockle Bay Wharf, Darling Harbour NSW 2000 at 6:30pm, please indicate if you would like to attend on your registration.
Wednesday 21 March 9am to 4pm - The CEO Collaborative Event. This commences with the short AGM of the HRT. During the AGM there will be an opportunity for members to: a) join the launch of a refreshed HRT brand and provide direction on the strategic goals and services over the next 3 years, b) review 2017 activities and accounts, and share the key observations, trends and innovations noted throughout the year.
Following the AGM until the lunch break there will be three superb keynote presentations from international visitors – all dealing with health issues of the future and how they can be planned for today.
The first is Roy Lilley. Roy is a UK health policy analyst, writer, broadcaster and commentator on the National Health Service and social issues. Twice voted top speaker on NHS topics, he is listed in the Debretts most influential people in healthcare. Roy is the Founder of the Academy of Fabulous NHS Stuff (https://fabnhsstuff.net ) a repository which has become a social movement and is seen as the change platform for the NHS and Social Care. Roy’s presentation will focus on how this ground up approach to innovation is improving the NHS.
The second is Assoc. Prof Dr Jeanne Huddleston the founder of Hospital Medicine at the Mayo Clinic, a Harvard-Macy scholar and past President of the Society of Hospital Medicine. Jeanne founded and led the Mayo Clinic 100% Mortality Review System for nearly 12 years. As well as being a specialist physician; Jeanne has an industrial engineering degree, which allowed her to translate a systems engineering and design methodology to solve health care delivery’s toughest problems. Amongst many achievements, she embedded systems engineering and reliability principles into the multispecialty and multidisciplinary 100% mortality review system at Mayo Clinic. Over the last year, Jeanne has been engaged to assist many hospitals in the USA and around the world (including Tasmanian hospitals) with their quality improvement initiatives. Jeanne’s presentation will focus on the largest safety problems facing hospital’s today and the foreseeable future – acts of omission, not commission.
The third is Dr Alex Psirides from Wellington New Zealand. Alex is an experienced intensivist who is the clinical lead for the NZ Health Quality and Safety Commission’s nationwide deteriorating patient program. Alex will focus on how hospitals can successfully detect early deterioration in sick patients and how to address the challenges of getting consistency throughout a nation.
In the post lunch session, Roy Lilley will conduct a 2½ hour workshop on what CEO’s can do today to address health problems of the future and will show what can be achieved with two or three of the proposed new HRT 2035 stretch goals.
There is no registration cost for the CEO Collaborative & AGM and /or pre meeting dinner but you need to register by 5 March 2018 to let us know who is attending.
