Dr David Alcorn named Health Roundtable President

Dr David Alcorn was elected President of The Health Roundtable on 20 July 2012 by the Board of Directors. David replaces Adrian Nowitzke, who resigned at the end of June.
Dr David Alcorn is Executive Director of the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, and has served on The Health Roundtable Board of Directors since March 2011. He was elected President of The Health Roundtable Limited by the Board of Directors on 20 July, following the resignation of Dr Adrian Nowitzke in June.
Dr Alcorn is a well respected psychiatrist. He was awarded the Bernard Nicholson Prize for achieving the best overall performance in the oral examination to become a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators.
His role in medical administration is a uniquely qualified one which ensures the highest standards of care are maintained, using a combination of skills derived from medical training, legal training and research with the knowledge and techniques of management.
Dr Alcorn is a current member of the Qld branch council of the AMA and currently the Chair of the AMA Queensland Ethics and Medico-legal Committee. Dr Alcorn is also a board member of the RANZ College of Psychiatrists and the Post Graduate Medical Council Queensland and a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
